Packaging makes up most of the waste a skincare brand produces, so that is where we started. Every SÉRA product page names the container it ships in.
Glass first
Serums, essences, toners, oils and most jars come in frosted glass. Check that your local program takes glass, then rinse the bottle before it goes in. Caps and pumps are polypropylene. Separate them from the glass before recycling.
Tubes from sugarcane
Our soft tubes, including Cloud Gel Cleanser, the SPF range and Hand Cream, use polyethylene made from sugarcane instead of fossil-based plastic. They are recyclable where your local program accepts PE tubes.
Refills for the biggest bottles
Gentle Body Wash comes in a 1 litre refill that pours into the 400 ml pump bottle. Body bottles use PET with 30% recycled content.
Sets without plastic trays
Routine sets ship in a recycled paper box with a molded pulp insert. Discovery Minis come in a cotton linen pouch you can keep.
What we have not solved
Airless pumps, which protect vitamin C and retinal from light and air, are still multi-material and hard to recycle. We use them only where the formula needs them.
